In December 2018, less than half a year after I married my amazing wife Elisabeth, something amazing happened- we became parents! This did not happen the traditional way, nor was it expected, but overnight we found ourselves responsible for the wellbeing of my 1 year old niece and 3 year old nephew.

As neither of us had any parenting experience (I had hardly even held a child at this point!) and we were both working at the time, we decided that one of us would need to become a stay-at-home parent. I was unsatisfied with my career projection, and Elisabeth had just become the head teacher for Exception Children at a rural middle school, I quit my job as a Technical Support Agent at Spectrum, we packed up our bags, and moved from Charlotte to sleepy Shelby, North Carolina.

While I agree that being a househusband is a fulltime job, I was determined to not be idle. Instead, with the aid of the GI Bill from my years in the Army, I began attending classes in the local community college. 3 years later (thanks to an interruption due to COVID) I graduated with honors with an Associates in Computer Science and a love for graphics design, front-end design, and computer networking!

 With both kids now in school I'm ready to reenter the workforce with renewed purpose and passion!
